NAB 2008

アップルもAvidも参加を取りやめて翳りが噂される今年のNABはHDにドライブがかかって4K映像などもちらほら。会場入り口にはショップがあって、いろんな技術書が並んでいる中にトム・ホーマンのサラウンド解説書を見つけた。最終日に買いに行ってみると、ショップは既に閉店セール状態で、書籍も残り少なくお目当ての本がない。一応南館の方にも足を伸ばしてもうひとつのショップを丹念に物色したところ最後の一冊に巡り会えた。10%引きで結果はオーライでした。


With Apple’s and Avid’s withdrawal, NAB this year is rumored shrinking but I at least saw a steady focus on HD even with 4K pictures here and there. In the shop near the entrance were quite a variety of reference books of technologies and I found among them Tom Holman’s Surround Sound. I revisited the shop to buy a copy on the last day when it was in the middle of closing sale and the book had been all gone. I ran to another shop in South Hall and managed to get hold of the last inventory luckily with 10% off.
