嫗仙の滝 - Ousen Fall

草津温泉には何年も通っているが、この隠れ観光スポットは最近まで知らなかった。10月下旬なら紅葉と滝が一緒に眺められるかなと思って歩いてみたが、周りの木々は緑色ばかりだった。温泉街から嫗仙の滝入口の駐車場まで歩いて約30分、そこからは山道のハイキングで下り20分、帰路の登りが30分くらいだ。なかなか繊細で美しい滝だった。

While visiting Kusatsu hot spring repeatedly numerous times for years, I did not know this hidden sight-seeing spot until recently. From the town of Kusatsu to the parking at the entrance to the Ousen Fall is about 30-minute walk, from where you start a bit more serious hiking downhill for 20 minutes to the Fall, and 30 minutes uphill coming back. A delicately beautiful fall although the timing did not match for autumn colors of trees around.

驚異的な記憶力か並外れたメモ魔でもないと、40年以上前の15歳の少年の旅をここまで克明に書き上げることは無理。しかも臆することなく大人と対等に交渉し、料理も作って振舞うなど、自分の高1の頃と比較して、とんでもなく自立しすぎているのに唖然となる。
