Airが来た!

MacBook Airが本日届いた。スタイルの魅力はともかく、スペック的には見劣りする製品とも思ったが、12インチマックもすでに限界の状態だし、次に新製品が出たら買うと決めていたので、MacExpoでの発表と同時にあれこれ悩むこともせず予約をしておいた。そんなわけであまり詳細はチェックもしていなかったのだが、LANポートもFireWireもないのにはちょっと愕然となった。自宅では困ることもないが、会社や出張先でWiFiのみというのはビジネスモデルとしては使えないだろう。ディスクドライブは入荷しなかったので、今のマックを共有ドライブにしてAdobe CS3のインストールを試みたがエラーで不成功に終わった。LEDバックライトの画面は良さそうだ。


MacBook Air arrived today! Apart from its style, the specifications did not look much appealing, but I booked one right after its announcement at MacExpo as I had made up my mind to buy the next model because my 12-inch Mac was almost saturating. Due to my lack of detail investigation in advance, I was totally shocked to find no Etherport and no FireWire on this model. An entire dependence on wireless networking would be tolerated in my home but at work in the office or on the road, this may not be practical as a business machine. USB disc drive was not delivered together, so I tried installing Adobe CS3 from the shared drive on my retiring 12-inch Mac, but an error prevented it unfortunately. LED back-lit display looks quite convincing.
