Chris Botti in Blu-ray - クリス・ボッティ

クリス・ボッティのコンサート・アルバムがブルーレイで発売（米Sony BMG盤）されたので聴いてみた。しばらく前に音楽ものとしては極めて見応えあるLegends of Jazzというコンピレーション・ディスクにも彼の演奏は入っていたが、今回のアルバムにはスティングやバカラックなどの豪華ゲストがフィーチャーされ、楽しいコンサートが堪能できる。音質がこれまた出色の仕上がりで、楽器の細かなテクスチャまで眼前に聞くような快感がある。映像以上にハイデフィニションのマスタークォリティ96kHz/24ビット5.1サラウンドだ。
クリス・ボッティは一昨年の5月にはBlue Noteに来ていたし、サンフランシスコ交響楽団と競演するなど、幅広い活躍をしている若手トランペッター。


Chris Botti Live album is available in Blu-ray. I heard him play in a compilation album titled “Legends of Jazz” a while ago, but this time the new disc features such major guest players as Sting and Bacharach to make the concert very enjoyable. The sound quality is exceptionally high as if I can feel the fine texture of instruments. It is an exact example of master-quality 96kHz, 24-bit, 5.1 surround, and the level of HD quality would be higher than that of video.
