I once thought of traveling to Amami Island myself to watch the eclipse on 22nd, but the weather today disappointed the visitors. In watching the news instead, it appeared that the best option was actually an ocean cruising tour to Iwojima chasing the sun. The next opportunity comes a year later in the South Pacific including Easter Island, or if annular eclipse, Maldives and Sri Lanka in January.
