Breeding Tuna through Mackerel –

In NHK’s program “Life Dramatic”was reported a successful experiment of surrogate birth across fish. A university study team transplanted trout’s spermatogonia to baby fish of yamame, and proved that the trout was born from them. Furthermore, the spermatogonia when transplanted to female yamame converted themselves to ova. This whole study is indeed an amazing discovery. The real goal of the study is to have mackerel breed tuna, an endangered species to extinct, and some outcome will be expected in a year. The commentator said it was the responsibility of Japanese that kept consuming tuna the most in the world.
