Sakura and Greens in Mountains - 山桜と新緑

街から山へ、桜の季節も終盤に近い。ここ草津温泉は標高1000mを超え、空気は爽やかに心地よい。山桜に合わせて5月初旬にここを訪れるのが常だが、今年は来るのがやや遅かったようだ。入れ替わって吾妻渓谷の新緑が目にも生き生きとして心躍らされる。






The season of cherry blossoms is about to end in mountains now. Here in Kusatsu Onsen, the altitude is over 1000 meters with nice, cool air, and we usually come here in early May to watch “yamazakura” or wild cherry trees that have a charming pinky color. This year we were a bit late, I think. Instead, the young, green leaves in the mountains for example in Agatsuma Valley are so refreshing to watch now.
