
On the day before the Winter Olympics started in Vancouver, Nikkei Newspaper had a special page to cover the game schedule and they placed 4 photos of athletes. One could easily guess that they were the most talked-about symbolic characters in Japan. Actually, they were Aiko Uemura (Moguls), Nobunari Oda (Figure Skating), Miho Takagi (Speed Skating), and the other was Yu-Na Kim of Korea. Pushing Mao Asada or Miki Ando aside, what would be this deliberation? Could it hint the favoritism of the Chief Editor? I was very curious about the basic stance of their editorial.
